“SNOW” focuses on the beauty and grace we often associate with snow, rather than the four letter word that the severe winter of 2013/14 might bring to mind. Paintings in various media convey the white rush of blizzards across country landscapes, snow-covered river valleys and streams, quiet city streets enveloped in white and majestic panoramas from the Adirondack Trail. Rita Baragona, Lois Dodd, Tom Keough, Barbara Kulicke, Arthur Kvarnstrom, Simeon Lagodich, Ken Metcalf, and St. Clair Sullivan’s works invite viewers to consider how snow transforms our vision of places, and how the power of nature brings a new perspective to familiar places.
